RN ENDOSCOPY FULL TIME DAYS
About The Position
The Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) – Dual Role functions as a licensed registered nurse, endoscopy technician, and recovery nurse based on operational volume and patient care needs. The role provides direct patient care, including pre-procedure assessment, moderate sedation management, intra-procedure monitoring, post-procedure recovery, and discharge. It also includes technical duties such as procedure room setup, scope handling, reprocessing support, equipment operation, and procedural assistance. The RN maintains competency across all functional areas to support safe patient care, operational flexibility, and efficient patient flow.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in acute care specialty nursing.
- Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills.
- Ability to function effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Compassion, resilience, and adaptability.
- Current Florida state nursing license.
- Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and/or required specialty training or course completion, as required by specialty, current upon hire.
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred.
- Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN) preferred, not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Provide pre-procedure assessment and direct patient care.
- Manage moderate sedation and monitor patients during procedures.
- Provide post-procedure recovery care and discharge patients.
- Perform procedure room setup, scope handling, reprocessing support, and equipment operation.
- Assist with procedures and maintain competency across nursing, endoscopy technician, and recovery functions.
- Lead Universal Protocol / Time Out.
- Maintain continuous patient advocacy while patients are anesthetized or sedated.
