About The Position

An Endoscopy Tech assists physicians with endoscopic examinations at the Outpatient Endoscopy Center in Clermont, Florida. This is a full-time, day-schedule position in the Endoscopy department. The role prepares procedure areas and equipment, maintains and reprocesses endoscopic equipment, handles specimens, and supports communication and transport needs throughout the facility. The tech also helps maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and participates in required education, meetings, and professional development.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Maintain current BLS/Healthcare Provider Certification.
One year of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

Label and send specimens to the proper department or location for analysis.
Communicate relevant information about patient status, technical equipment, or unit concerns to appropriate healthcare workers.
Prepare the procedure area and equipment for procedures.
Maintain, clean, and store endoscopic equipment and supplies.
Reprocess flexible endoscopes according to policy.
Transport and deliver items, equipment, and medications throughout the facility, excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs.
Maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance in accordance with applicable policies and standards.
Comply with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Complete mandatory Orlando Health education and attend department staff meetings as required.
Take responsibility for professional development and continuing education.
Participate in nursing Environments of Care activities as assigned.
