About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced Adult Emergency Department. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while managing acute illnesses, trauma cases, and critical emergencies. This role requires strong clinical judgment, rapid decision-making skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program required.
  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • Primary Source Verification through the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of Emergency Room nursing experience required.
  • Strong experience with IV insertion and phlebotomy.
  • Experience monitoring and caring for patients receiving conscious sedation.
  • Experience managing high-acuity and critical care patients in an emergency setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult patients in the Emergency Department.
  • Perform rapid patient assessments and triage according to acuity level.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions as prescribed.
  • Perform IV insertion, phlebotomy, and specimen collection.
  • Monitor patients receiving conscious sedation and other specialized treatments.
  • Assist with trauma activations, resuscitations, and critical care procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Respond to emergency situations, code events, and patient condition changes.
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
