About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care while responding promptly and appropriately to emergent patient needs. This is a full-time position working 60-72 hours per pay period (0.75-0.9FTE). Hours vary between a 7:00am/7:00pm rotation, with every 3rd weekend and a holiday rotation required.

Requirements

Active RN licensure with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
Current CPR certification.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
Trauma Nursing Core Course must be completed prior to the completion of orientation, along with the Trauma Systems Module from the Minnesota Department of Health in LHS HRIS system.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to Emergency Department patients.
Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations.
Perform emergency nursing procedures within RN scope of practice.
Monitor patient conditions and intervene as needed.
Accurately document patient care, medications, and clinical updates in EPIC.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, ED techs, and interdisciplinary team members.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams.
Support patient safety, medication safety, and regulatory compliance.
Maintain competency with emergency medical equipment and procedures.
