About The Position

RN Emergency Dept Part Time Days Sign on Bonus up to $5,000 Available Schedule is 2 x 12 hour shifts per week, some weekends Piedmont Eastside SOUTH Campus Emergency Dept Snellville, GA 11-bed Emergency Department (freestanding), coordinates/admits to Main Campus Hospital, approximately 15,000 patient visits per year Functions independently to assess, triage, plan, implement, and evaluate care for adult and pediatric patients Patient Population: adult, pediatric Resources: XR, CT, Lab, Pharmacy in-house Department Staff: RNs, Paramedics Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Preferred Certifications: TNCC, ENPC, CEN, CPEN Willingness to function as a preceptor, mentor, and relief charge nurse as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
  • Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
  • TNCC, ENPC, CEN, CPEN
  • Willingness to function as a preceptor, mentor, and relief charge nurse as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Performs patient assessments to include collection of data regarding the patient’s physical, psychosocial and health history.
  • Appropriately evaluates the developmental age of the patient when performing assessments, treatments and patient/family education.
  • Organizes patient data into the formulation of a plan of care; identifies additional information needed and makes care decisions based on identified needs. Identifies expected patient outcomes.
  • Carries out plan of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.
  • Provides patient care that is specific to the setting, identified needs and plan; ensures that the care provided is appropriate to the severity of the disease, condition, impairment or disability.
  • Oversees activities of ancillary and support team members.
  • Identifies teaching opportunities and provides the resources necessary for achieving the educational goals of the patients.
  • Communications issues/concerns to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager and/or physician as appropriate.
  • Documents patient care and concerns in the patient record.
