About The Position

Piedmont Henry Emergency Department sees 75,000-90,000 visits per year and is licensed for 59 beds with a 3/4:1 Patient to RN Ratio. It is a Level III trauma center that performs triage and assessment of patient complaints, medical screening exams by qualified medical providers, and develops treatment plans based on assessments. The department also manages appropriate drug therapy for critically ill patients and provides patient discharge education. It is a fully accredited Stroke Center and recently added an 18-bed Cardiac Observation Unit that works closely with the ED. The multidisciplinary team in the ED includes: ED MD, ED APP, ED RN, C-RN, Flow Coordinator, Unit Based Educator, RN, ED Paramedics, Patient Care Technicians, Radiology staff, Respiratory staff, Patient Experience and Patient Access.

Requirements

• Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
• No experience required
• New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
• Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients.
• Functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability.
• Responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
