About The Position
Piedmont Henry Emergency Department sees 75,000-90,000 visits per year and is licensed for 59 beds. The department operates with a 3/4:1 Patient to RN Ratio and is a Level III trauma center. Key functions include triage and assessment of patient complaints, medical screening exams by qualified providers, appropriate drug therapy, management of critically ill patients, and patient discharge education. The department is a Fully Accredited Stroke Center and recently added an 18-bed Cardiac Observation Unit that works closely with the ED. The multidisciplinary team in the ED includes ED MD, ED APP, ED RN, C-RN, Flow Coordinator, Unit Based Educator, RN, ED Paramedics, Patient Care Technicians, Radiology staff, Respiratory staff, Patient Experience, and Patient Access.
Requirements
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
- New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
Responsibilities
- Provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients.
- Functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability.
- Responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
