About The Position

Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department/Patient Care Unit in Guttenberg, Iowa. This onsite role provides patient care in a fast-paced environment, working with a collaborative team and serving patients of all ages across various nursing care areas. The RN delivers care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The position also includes educating and supporting patients, families, and significant others; supervising and directing LPNs and CNAs; and maintaining professional standards of safety, integrity, and patient care. A post-offer fit-for-duty assessment is required.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited RN program.
Meet all Continuing Education Unit (CEU) requirements mandated by the Iowa Board of Nursing.
Maintain current registration and a valid nursing license with the Iowa Board of Nursing.
Maintain knowledge in all areas of nursing.
Maintain certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NRP.
Effective communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
Post-offer fit-for-duty assessment required.

Responsibilities

Deliver patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Teach and support patients, families, and significant others so they understand health and treatment plans.
Supervise and direct the activities of LPNs and CNAs.
Provide safe, empathetic care to patients of all ages across various nursing care areas.
Maintain knowledge across areas of nursing and uphold professional nursing standards.
