About The Position

MultiCare is seeking a staff Registered Nurse to join its hospital-based team and provide specialized nursing care through a multidisciplinary approach. The role organizes and delivers patient care using the nursing process and hospital policies, procedures, and protocols, while supporting quality improvement, patient experience, and cost reduction. The nurse also fosters learning for patients, families, staff, and other health care team members, and advocates for ethical, holistic care that respects the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse backgrounds. The position is based at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital, a 388-bed acute-care hospital serving Puyallup and East Pierce County. The role is 0.9 FTE, with 12-hour night shifts and alternating weekends. Candidates should have two years of recent PCU/Stepdown experience.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS).
Current BLS certification.
ACLS, NALS, PALS, TNCC, or NRP certification, as required by the facility or department.
Two years of recent PCU/Stepdown experience sought.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).
Certification in a specialty area.
One year of experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

Organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, and evaluating care on an ongoing basis.
Use nursing education and experience to deliver care through the nursing process in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
Collaborate with the nursing team to improve quality of care, patient experience, and cost reduction.
Foster a learning environment for patients and families, nursing staff, and members of the health care team.
Advocate for ethical and holistic care that promotes patient autonomy, dignity, and health across diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
