RN - Critical Care
About The Position
Spencer Hospital is a rural hospital in northwest Iowa with more than 500 employees. This role provides nursing care in the ICU and Emergency Departments. The position is with Spencer Hospital and is not affiliated with Avera, though the organizations collaborate to provide services to their communities. The schedule is 72 hours per pay period, with rotating day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. Shifts are 12 hours, from 6:30 to 7:00, and the schedule may fluctuate based on department needs. Requirements
- Hold an Iowa RN license.
- Have BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications; in-house education is available upon hire.
- Be a caring communicator who is flexible, able to multitask, and comfortable with technological systems.
Nice To Haves
- One year of medical/surgical or critical care experience is preferred.
- New graduates with a strong desire to work in critical care are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Use the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care in the ICU and Emergency Departments.
- Assume responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period.
- Collaborate with available nursing personnel to provide total patient care.
- Know and use appropriate age-related patient protocols addressing patients’ physical and psychological needs.
