About The Position

The RN Critical Care Float provides and coordinates care for patients, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to provide physical and psychological support to patients and their families. The role includes assessments and reassessments, developing individualized plans of care, medication administration, documentation, patient education, equipment maintenance, and communication of patient needs. The nurse administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs, and provides respiratory and ventilator management and monitoring. The nurse coordinates care across disciplines, records and communicates patient condition using computerized documentation systems, and works with the healthcare team to assess and coordinate discharge planning needs.

Requirements

RN licensure by the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state.
BLS certification.
Must obtain ACLS within six months of hire or transfer from a non-ICU area.
One year of RN experience.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Specialty certification preferred.
ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities
