Job Summary: Works collaboratively with the Chief Medical Officer to lead, direct and implement patient care protocols for Stroke and STEMI patients through collaboration with physicians, staff, and personnel from various patient care areas of the organization. Other patient populations may be assigned as requested by the Chief Medical Officer or the IP/Quality Director. Coordinates efforts to ensure quality outcomes are achieved for patients throughout the patient care experience. Presents quality metrics for stroke and STEMI to Patient Safety/Quality Committee and Medical Staff committees as appropriate. Coordinates efforts to achieve and maintain certification with appropriate agencies. Provides specialized nursing knowledge and expertise while functioning as an educator, researcher and consultant to medical/nursing staff, patients, and families.
