Jackson Memorial Hospital is the flagship hospital for Jackson Health System, a beacon of medical excellence and community care for over a century. It has been central to medical breakthroughs and important moments in South Florida, growing into one of the nation's largest public hospitals and a world-class academic medical center with 1,500 licensed beds. Nearly every medical specialty is provided by a skilled multidisciplinary team. The Clinical Staff Nurse (CSN) acts as a champion of quality patient care and a professional caregiver, demonstrating critical thinking and scientific judgment in patient care planning. The CSN is responsible for competent nursing performance, consistently applying the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The CSN also upholds high standards of professional performance, encompassing ethics, cultural diversity, communication, collaboration, evidence-based practice, nursing research, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health. These standards form the foundation of professional nursing. The CSN will operate within the JHS CARE Model, taking accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients, and possesses the clinical knowledge and skills required by specific clinical areas.
