RN Clinical Outcomes Coordinator - Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
About The Position
The RN Clinical Outcomes Coordinator supports and coordinates clinical quality improvement initiatives in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and performs duties in accordance with the medical center’s purpose. The role coordinates multidisciplinary teams and committees to develop and implement evidence-based clinical quality goals and outcomes using appropriate standards of care. It also educates staff, supports integration of improvement initiatives into daily operations, and communicates outcomes to medical staff and administration. The coordinator mentors and facilitates clinical outcome improvement teams and develops templates to streamline team and clinical pathway development and implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Two years of experience in healthcare management, healthcare quality improvement, case management, performance improvement, or direct patient care.
- Valid RN license.
- Knowledge of current theoretical approaches to nursing care and strategies for examining and applying relevant concepts.
- Knowledge of performance improvement concepts and ability to participate in developing and implementing strategies to improve patient care.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate ongoing clinical quality improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and committees to develop and implement evidence-based clinical quality goals and outcomes using appropriate standards of care.
- Serve as a liaison as appropriate.
- Educate others on clinical quality improvement initiatives.
- Help integrate clinical quality improvement initiatives into day-to-day operations.
- Provide medical staff and administration with feedback on outcomes from clinical improvement initiatives during and after implementation, and on performance-measure outcomes for clinical pathways.
- Serve as a mentor and facilitator to clinical outcome improvement teams.
- Create templates to streamline clinical outcomes improvement team development and pathway development and implementation.
- Serve on at least one nursing council, hospital, or medical center committee, task force, or project team to improve patient care or the work area.
- Demonstrate core standards of exceptional customer service.
