About The Position

Provides direct line management and leadership for the Surgery Unit/O.R. Ensures proper standards are followed for nursing practice and provides an interface between support services and clinical services. Facilitates development and operation of the care delivery system, including staffing and professional delivery of services. This position is with the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA), within the Medical University of South Carolina.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure by the South Carolina State Board of Nursing (SC RN licensure).
• Minimum of three years of medical practice/clinical management experience; other experience may be substituted in lieu of practice/clinical management.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• ACLS certification.
• Ability to perform the listed physical and sensory functions, including standing, sitting, walking, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, and working in stressful situations.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
