About The Position

The Critical Care Clinical Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the department's day-to-day operations while ensuring high-quality patient care. This individual will work closely with the Nurse Manager to manage staffing, coordinate clinical activities, and uphold care standards in the critical care unit. The coordinator will also serve as a leader by assisting with staff development, managing schedules, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Additionally, the coordinator will step into direct patient care roles as needed, especially during periods of high demand or staffing shortages, ensuring smooth workflow and continuity of care. Works under the direction of the leadership team to provide a comprehensive range of services or clinical care associated with and in accordance with standards of excellence established by Riverside Health system and facility goals and strategic plans.

Requirements

  • Program Graduate, Nursing (Required)
  • High School Diploma or GED, HS Diploma/GED only required if graduate from a nursing diploma program, not required for ADN or BSN (Required)
  • 2 years Critical Care RN experience (Required)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree, Nursing (Preferred)
  • Bachelors Degree, Nursing (Preferred)
  • 1 year Charge Nurse experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a clinical resource and role model for nursing staff, promoting evidence-based practices.
  • Evaluates service practices, identifies opportunities to improve patient experience and takes appropriate actions that result in increased satisfaction.
  • Facilitates a collaborative work environment; takes action to build and develop a motivated team capable of meeting performance goals through on-boarding, orientation, initial qualification and ongoing staff development.
  • Facilitate communication between nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, including monitoring unit performance metrics and contributing to quality improvement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in the critical care setting through auditing.
  • Support crisis management, patient flow, and other operational challenges within the unit.
