About The Position

The RN Circulator administers patient care in a hospital or inpatient setting where patients have advanced illnesses or injuries requiring timely, intense, and complex care to stabilize and support their medical condition. These areas have lower caregiver-to-patient ratios and require highly trained team members with advanced skills. Operating room experience is highly preferred, and the position includes rotating call and rotating weekend call. This role provides complex assessment and therapies, high-intensity interventions, and continuous nursing vigilance. The nurse assesses patients, develops and revises individualized plans of care, responds to changing conditions and emergencies, coordinates and documents care, and collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. The nurse may also serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, or nurse clinician. For nurses trained as Advanced Care Registered Nurse ECMO Specialists, additional duties include staffing extracorporeal life support services, managing ECMO equipment and circuits, supporting patient perfusion and hemodynamic stability, and providing ECLS coverage including during transport. ECMO Specialists work under unit leadership and in collaboration with intensivists, perfusionists, bedside staff, and other healthcare team members.
