About The Position
The RN identifies patient needs and priorities for care through assessment; plans and delegates care based on patient needs; executes therapeutic physician orders and nursing interventions; and evaluates the patient’s response to care and progress toward expected outcomes. The RN is accountable for outcomes of patient care delivered during the assigned shift. This position is in the outpatient OR, Orthopedic & Spine Tower, on the second shift.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Alabama or multistate nursing licensure.
- BCLS certification, which must be completed within the provisional period.
- Successful completion of a perioperative RN program or prior experience as a circulating RN.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients to identify their care needs and priorities.
- Plan and delegate care based on patient needs.
- Execute therapeutic physician orders and nursing interventions.
- Evaluate patients’ responses to care and their progress toward expected outcomes.
- Remain accountable for patient-care outcomes during the assigned shift.
