About The Position

The Clinical Charge Nurse identifies patient needs and priorities for care through assessment, planning, and delegation based on patient needs. The nurse executes therapeutic physician orders and nursing interventions, evaluates patient responses and progress toward outcomes, and coordinates care with other professional disciplines as needed. The role also helps patients and staff identify problems and explore alternative choices and outcomes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Alabama nursing license.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Previous nursing experience in a critical care setting.
• Demonstrated supervisory and/or management ability.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize and change tasks frequently and quickly.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and establish priorities for care.
• Plan and delegate care based on patient needs.
• Execute therapeutic physician orders and nursing interventions.
• Evaluate patient responses to care and progress toward patient outcomes.
• Coordinate care with other professional disciplines as needed.
