About The Position

This critical nursing role in the Cath Lab requires emergent on-call duties. The position involves prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating patient care, explaining procedures to patients and families, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and physicians to ensure excellent patient care and outcomes. The role also includes maintaining a safe environment, monitoring patient condition changes, executing Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements, ensuring continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional patient experience. The nurse will advise and consult with supervisors when unable to complete assignments promptly, effectively, or safely, and initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services. Contributing to the team by assisting others without being asked is also a key aspect of the role.

Requirements

  • Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Current PALS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • Experience in an acute care hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.
  • Advising and consulting with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
  • Initiating patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.
  • Contributing to the team by assisting others without being asked.
