About The Position

Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is a fully integrated, state-of-the-art medical campus that includes diagnostic centers, outpatient surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital is part of the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit, multispecialty, academic medical center that integrates clinical and hospital care with research and education. With a dedicated Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) and Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU), Martin North Hospital is considered the cardiac hub of Cleveland Clinic Martin Health. As an RN, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey within the CVICU. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. By being a patient advocate, you will be able to provide the patient with expert care in a critical situation. This position offers advanced clinical training in specialized areas along with the ability to obtain additional certifications. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education, academic advancements and research and quality improvement opportunities, all of which can lead to climbing the professional ladder. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Critical Care Course or validated OJT
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ALS through the American Red Cross upon hire or within first year of employment
  • One year of acute care RN experience in a hospital setting OR licensed military RN experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
