About The Position

4 Center OB Special Care is a specialized unit within Obstetrics, providing expert individualized care for patients with high-risk pregnancies, pregnancy-related conditions, and postpartum care. Common diagnoses include premature rupture of membranes, preterm labor or contractions, preeclampsia/hypertension, cervical shortening, vaginal bleeding, hyperemesis, and diabetes. Staff are trained in electronic fetal monitoring, assessing maternal and fetal well-being, and administering high-risk medications. Butterworth Hospital, located in Grand Rapids, is a nationally recognized hospital for patient quality and safety, and a regional leader in full-service hospitals. Established in 1873, it has a reputation for excellence in care, diagnostics, treatment, prevention, and education, serving as the flagship hospital for Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals.

Requirements

• Associates in Nursing Required
• Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
• MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Required within 90 days

Nice To Haves

• 6+ months of inpatient RN experience preferred

• Deliver nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
• Demonstrate competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Uphold the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA, including ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
