About The Position

The Women’s Center at Texas Health Ft. Worth is a MAGNET and Texas 10-Step facility, and Maternal Level IV designated facility. The GYN/Antepartum department is a 27-bed unit combining GYN, High Risk Antepartum, Breast surgery and Postpartum patients. Nurses provide care to GYN, post-surgical patients (including hysterectomies, breast surgeries), Postpartum (NICU moms), and Antepartum patients (all gestation levels). The unit offers self-scheduling for work/life balance and opportunities for educational and career growth, supported by a robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team.

Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program Or Nursing Diploma required
CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
One-year experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), or completion of an RN residency program.
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required

Nice To Haves

BSN is preferred
One year or more of GYN, Antepartum, Women’s Services RN experience strongly preferred
Fetal monitoring (EFM) knowledge and experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
