About The Position

This full-time Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in the Women’s Center at Texas Health Ft. Worth, a MAGNET and Texas 10-Step facility, and Maternal Level IV designated facility. The GYN/Antepartum department is a 27-bed unit that combines GYN, High Risk Antepartum, Breast surgery, and Postpartum patients. The role involves providing care to GYN patients post-surgical (including hysterectomies and breast surgeries), Postpartum patients (NICU moms), and Antepartum patients across all gestation levels. The department offers self-scheduling to support work/life balance, opportunities for educational and career growth, and boasts a robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and an engaged leadership team.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program Or Nursing Diploma required
  • CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
  • One-year experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), or completion of an RN residency program
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required

Nice To Haves

  • BSN is preferred
  • One year or more of GYN, Antepartum, Women’s Services RN experience strongly preferred
  • Fetal monitoring (EFM) knowledge and experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
