About The Position

RN's in this position will begin working in a progressive/acute care environment providing intermediate levels of care for patients. This Hybrid Unit will take a mix of higher acuity patients to include long term trachs and drips that need monitoring. New graduates and experienced RN’s are encouraged to apply. 5C Progressive Care This is a general progressive care. CHF, renal failure, GI bleeds, Respiratory failure, heart failure, pulmonary disease and other acute or chronic illnesses.

Requirements

• Minimum Associate Degree Degree from accredited academic nursing program preferred
• Registered Nurse-NM State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
• BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire

Responsibilities

• Effectively communicates and assists other members of nursing team and/or other disciplines.
• Actively participates in problem solving and conflict resolution to maintain team cohesiveness.
• Performs on-call duties effectively with the ability to triage patients over the phone and visit when needed.
• Directs own educational needs for the top 10 ICD9 codes and/or diagnoses for diabetes, wounds/post-surgical, arthritis, newborns, Coumadin dependency, malnutrition/ nutrition needs, medication instruction, pain and symptom control/hospice care.
• Supervises the home health aides in compliance with the Medicare/Medicaid rules and regulations.
• Performs other functions as required.
