About The Position

The Acute Rehab Unit serves patients recovering from strokes, spinal cord injuries, LVADs, Traumatic Brain Injury, and burn injuries. The unit has 32 patient beds and provides PT, OT, and speech therapy, with patients receiving up to 3 hours of therapy daily. Requirements

  • Minimum Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
  • CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Assesses human responses and plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for individuals or families.

  • Assigns duties and lunches for staff when performing charge nurse role.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical care or health services.

  • Assures appropriate order sets are used.
  • Supervises, delegates, and evaluates assigned LPN scope of practice.
  • Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate, and implement patient care plans according to individual needs, physician orders, and hospital policy.
  • Derives culturally and age-appropriate expected outcomes involving the patient, family, and other healthcare providers.
  • Analyzes the health status of individuals and families, comparing data with norms to determine patient care needs.
  • Assesses patient reports/records changes in condition, notifies physician and/or supervisor, and intervenes and documents appropriately.
  • Accepts assignments in areas other than primary unit and performs duties within competency.
  • Demonstrates commitment to continuous lifelong learning for self and others.
  • Promotes advancement of the profession through participation in professional organizations.
