About The Position

This position performs prescribed MRI imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative. Provides support of coordination of staff and area functions as well as may serve as a physician liaison.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in healthcare or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or six months to one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent education and experience.
  • CPR – American Heart Association.
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
  • 2 years in MRI Experience
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
  • CPR

Responsibilities

  • Performs all essential job responsibilities of a MRI Technologist, including but not limited to, performing age-specific diagnostic imaging per established protocols.
  • Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, physicians and other team members.
  • Addresses patient and physician concerns.
  • Responds to adverse events and/or any changes with patient's status.
  • Acts as a day-to-day mentor/resource for staff and others within the department.
  • Orients and trains new staff and students.
  • Performs and/or trains others relative to quality assurance activities, quality control, and regulatory testing and accreditation preparation/documentation.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in the performance of specialty exams and analyzes data promptly to resolve problems and improve efficiency.
  • Enter new or edit existing MRI scanner protocols.
  • Participates in standardization activities and process improvement initiatives with system-level workgroups.
  • Coverage of chief tech duties, as assigned.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
