About The Position

This position performs prescribed MRI imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative. Provides support of coordination of staff and area functions as well as may serve as a physician liaison.

Requirements

Associate degree in healthcare or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school or six months to one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent education and experience.
CPR – American Heart Association.
Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
2 years in MRI Experience
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).

Responsibilities

Performs all essential job responsibilities of a MRI Technologist, including but not limited to, performing age-specific diagnostic imaging per established protocols.
Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, physicians and other team members.
Addresses patient and physician concerns.
Responds to adverse events and/or any changes with patient's status.
Acts as a day-to-day mentor/resource for staff and others within the department.
Orients and trains new staff and students.
Performs and/or trains others relative to quality assurance activities, quality control, and regulatory testing and accreditation preparation/documentation.
Demonstrates proficiency in the performance of specialty exams and analyzes data promptly to resolve problems and improve efficiency.
Enter new or edit existing MRI scanner protocols.
Participates in standardization activities and process improvement initiatives with system-level workgroups.
Coverage of chief tech duties, as assigned.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
