The Allegheny General 6C Telemetry Unit is a 30 bed unit providing specialized care for Medical Telemetry, General Medicine, and Internal Medicine patients. The unit cares for patients transitioning from higher levels of care, typically the stepdown unit. Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, COPD exacerbations, drug and alcohol withdrawal, GI bleeds, altered mental status, sepsis, and CHF. The nursing team dedicates time to thoroughly educate patients and their families on medication management, aftercare instructions, and any relevant information to ensure a successful transition from the hospital to home. Allegheny General Hospital is a Level I Shock Trauma Center with 5 state-of-the-art ICUs, a state-of-the-art Cancer Center, and over 550 beds.
