About The Position

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Risk & Safety Instructional Designer to help build a culture of safety across our organization. In this role, you will design engaging training programs that equip our field teams and leaders with the knowledge and skills they need to work safely, reduce risk, and stay compliant with industry regulations. You will partner with safety experts, operations leaders, and subject matter experts to turn technical requirements into practical, easy-to-understand learning experiences that make a real impact in the field. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of instructional design experience, preferably supporting safety, industrial, construction, HVAC, manufacturing, or field service environments.
  • Experience developing eLearning using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar authoring software.
  • Experience administering or supporting Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Ability to read and comprehend a variety of informational documentation including regulations, training materials, and technical procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, leadership, and stakeholders both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to visualize workflows, processes, and job tasks to develop effective training materials and simulations.
  • Ability to analyze incident data, identify trends, and solve practical problems related to safety performance and training effectiveness.
  • Ability to interpret regulations, operational procedures, and translate into learning solutions.
  • Ability to operate a computer, learning systems, and standard office equipment.
  • May require use of multimedia tools for content creation including video, audio, and interactive design platforms.
  • Must have the ability to talk (expressing and/or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words) and/or hear (perceiving sounds of nature by ear) to communicate effectively in training environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, or environmental regulations.
  • Experience developing compliance or safety-focused training for field-based employees.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHST, or other related safety credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop engaging Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) training programs focused on OSHA compliance, fleet safety, hazard recognition, and safe work practices.
  • Create a variety of learning materials, including eLearning courses, instructor-led training, virtual sessions, job aids, and field resources.
  • Partner with Risk Management, Safety, Claims, and Operations teams to identify training opportunities based on incident trends, claims data, and business needs.
  • Transform technical, regulatory, and operational information into clear, practical learning content for field technicians, drivers, and leaders.
  • Develop realistic, scenario-based training that reflects day-to-day work environments, including installation, repair, driving, and field operations.
  • Support the rollout of company-wide safety initiatives, programs, and awareness campaigns.
  • Design assessments, knowledge checks, and certification programs to measure learning effectiveness and reinforce key concepts.
  • Maintain training records and compliance documentation within the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Evaluate training success using performance metrics such as incident rates, audit results, claims trends, and learner feedback.
  • Continuously improve training content based on field observations, business needs, regulatory changes, and employee feedback.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure training materials are accurate, relevant, and aligned with current safety practices.
  • Apply adult learning principles to create training that is engaging, accessible, and scalable across multiple locations.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
