About The Position

This role is an integral member of the Wealth, Corporate, Commercial & Institutional Banking (WCIB) and Institutional Client Group (ICG) Credit and Lending Risk group. The purpose of the program is to ensure a consistent and effective standard is applied to exam management across all WCIB Business Units (BU).

Requirements

  • Typically more than 10 years of applicable experience.
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Expert knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business.
  • Expert knowledge of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems, loan documentation, and associated risks/controls.
  • Advanced knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies.
  • Strong leadership and management skills of processes, projects and people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications, nCino, AFS & LIQ and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

  • Be a primary point of contact for all internal parties (i.e. Regulatory Services, CRR, OCC, BU's).
  • Communicate current-state quality of key BU processes in light of upcoming exams to Senior Management and exam partners.
  • Coordinate and organize exam and credit file documentation.
  • Track and report exam status.
  • Collaborate with BU for the duration of applicable exams.
  • Participate in identification of root causes and resolution plans as issues are identified.
  • Lead projects that ensure compliance with Credit Policy, BU Procedures, applicable federal regulations.
  • Facilitate the identification of, and solutioning for, risks resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems or human errors.
  • Ensure the active identification, response and/or escalation of risks as appropriate.
  • Act in the capacity of Subject Matter Expert for a variety of credit related processes and products.
  • Identify best practices and lead widespread adoption.
  • May influence policies and procedures to regulatory and credit process risk.
  • Accountable for an effective partnership between the Lines of Business and the Lines of Defense.
