2027 Risk Intern - NYC
About The Position
Galaxy Digital is hiring a Risk Intern for its nine-week, on-site summer internship program at its New York City headquarters. The program runs from June 7 to August 6, 2027. The intern will gain hands-on experience working on digital asset risk projects, alongside teams developing real products and solving practical problems. The program also includes professional development, social events, and networking opportunities with senior leaders. The intern will use on-chain information to support data-driven decisions and risk management; develop and oversee risk analytics and models for digital assets; conduct risk assessments and scenario analyses; and help design quantitative strategies, models, and policies for market risk. The role also assists with maintaining systems for calculating risk metrics and includes writing and sharing market commentary.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or master’s student graduating between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Eligible master’s students must have fewer than two years of relevant, full-time work experience.
- Interest in and knowledge of digital assets, DeFi, and the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
- Knowledge of financial products and crypto products.
- Basic Python and SQL skills.
- Critical-thinking skills and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Ability to multitask quickly and efficiently.
- Proactive and entrepreneurial spirit.
- PhD and JD students are not eligible.
Responsibilities
- Use on-chain information to enable data-driven decision-making and enhance risk management practices.
- Develop and oversee risk analytics and modeling techniques for digital assets, improving risk measurement and reporting.
- Conduct risk assessments and scenario analyses for digital asset markets, evaluating potential market, regulatory, and technological changes affecting the portfolio.
- Design and implement quantitative strategies, models, and policies to identify, measure, and manage market risks, including interest rate, currency, equity, and commodity risks, while accounting for digital asset volatility, liquidity, and regulatory factors.
- Assist in developing and maintaining systems used to calculate risk metrics.
- Write and share market color.
