The Risk and Insurance Manager, Development and Construction is responsible for administering the company’s construction-related insurance and risk management programs supporting new construction, acquisition-rehabilitation, and other development activities. This role supports the placement and renewal of builder’s risk and construction liability programs, serves as the primary administrator of the company’s subcontractor default insurance program, and manages or monitors construction-related claims from initial notice through resolution and recovery. The Risk and Insurance Manager, Development and Construction reviews loan, construction, design, and consulting agreements to evaluate insurance, indemnification, and bonding requirements; addresses insurance-related requirements from lenders, investors, and other stakeholders; and analyzes program costs, claims, and loss trends to support informed decision-making. This position partners closely with Development, Construction, Finance, Legal, lenders, investors, brokers, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, contractors, and consultants to protect the organization’s assets and manage its overall construction risk exposure.
