The Risk Manager is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating internal and external risks that could threaten the organization's financial stability, legal standing, or operational integrity. This role involves designing and implementing risk management strategies, managing corporate insurance and claims, and fostering a culture of compliance and safety across all divisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in corporate risk management, insurance management, or compliance.
  • Deep understanding of commercial insurance structures, claims management processes, and legal frameworks.
  • Advanced data analysis skills to spot trends in claims data, financial risks, or compliance gaps.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to explain complex risk concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS) and data analysis tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments covering financial, operational, strategic, and safety hazards.
  • Design, implement, and maintain the organization’s enterprise risk management (ERM) policies and protocols.
  • Analyze the potential financial and operational impact of identified risks to prioritize mitigation efforts.
  • Oversee the end-to-end management of corporate claims, including property damage, general and third-party liability, commercial motor vehicle and fleet claims, workers’ compensation and employee injury claims, contractual claims, and cyber, privacy, and fraud incidents.
  • Act as the primary liaison with insurance brokers, adjusters, and legal counsel to negotiate coverage and settle claims.
  • Analyze claim trends to identify root causes and implement proactive loss-control programs.
  • Ensure company operations comply with all local, state, and federal laws and industry regulations.
  • Prepare detailed risk reports and presentations for executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Develop, test, and update disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Design and deliver risk awareness, safety, and compliance training programs for staff.
