About The Position

Join Axos Bank’s immersive 12-week Summer Internship Program to gain hands-on experience, contribute to enterprise initiatives, and develop professional skills in a fast-paced, technology-driven financial environment. Along with your day-to-day job duties, you will take part in a capstone project, sessions with our business leaders, financial literacy training courses, Corporate Finance Institute trainings, and a volunteer day. Interns choose between one of two sessions. Session 1: May 25 - August 13 Session 2: June 14 - September 3 The Compliance Internship provides hands-on experience in regulatory oversight within a banking environment. Interns will join one of two teams: Anti-Money Laundering (AML) or Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC). This role is designed to give exposure to compliance processes, regulatory frameworks, and risk management practices, while contributing to meaningful projects that support the bank’s compliance program.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the US.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the 12-week internship program.
  • Must be able to work in the San Diego office.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug test, and credit check.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Interest in financial services, compliance, risk management, or anti-money laundering.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with compliance-related projects and tasks in your assigned track (AML or Risk & Compliance).
  • Support data analysis, documentation, and reporting activities.
  • Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform administrative and operational tasks to support compliance programs.
