About The Position

The Business Risk Advisor is responsible for growing a book of business by developing new relationships with prospects and maintaining relationships with existing clients. This role involves searching for qualified new prospects, setting meetings, pursuing sales efforts, and closing new business. The advisor will meet with existing and prospective clients to review exposures, analyze business and insurance needs, develop strategies, and make recommendations. They will also oversee the preparation of proposal materials, review insurance program coverage, and present proposals to prospective clients, involving the Account Executive as needed. The role requires explaining insurance programs and alternative risk solutions, working towards an annual new business goal, and determining strategy for the renewal process with the operational team. Additionally, the advisor will participate in training, sales meetings, and SMART groups to enhance knowledge and skills, introduce clients to the support team, provide guidance to Account Executives and Account Managers on escalated service issues, and document client meeting notes. The position supports agency goals and procedures to place and retain business, minimize error and omission exposure, and establish client contacts through community and professional organizations. Developing rapport with clients and entertaining them is also part of the role. Other job duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel offsite as needed.
  • A college degree is preferred. A major insurance industry professional designation awarded by the American College of Insurance may be substituted for a college degree.
  • Must be willing to work towards professional industry designations.
  • Requires possession and maintenance of a Property and Casualty license.
  • Must maintain ongoing education to keep licensure current.
  • Must have a current driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
  • HIPAA Compliance: An employee will be responsible for following the guidelines of the HIPAA Confidentiality Agreement.

  • Establishes and maintains client contacts through participation in community organizations, professional organizations, etc., which serve our clients.
  • Develops rapport with clients, and entertains existing and prospective clients, as appropriate.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.
