Rising 2L Legal Intern
About The Position
CSAA Insurance Group offers a 10-week summer internship for law students who have completed their first year and will enter their second year in the fall. The program introduces interns to corporate and litigation practices and the legal operations of the insurance industry. Interns receive professional development sessions, networking opportunities with experienced legal professionals, and support from the legal team. The anticipated 2027 internship dates are May 24 through July 30. The role is hybrid for interns located within 60 miles of a CSAA office and fully remote for those located more than 60 miles from an office. Offices are in Walnut Creek, Sacramento, San Jose, Fresno, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. The anticipated hourly rate is $29.00.
Requirements
- Be a rising 2L law student who has completed the 1L year and will enter the 2L year in the fall.
- Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Have excellent legal drafting abilities and a keen interest in litigation, corporate law, and/or insurance law.
- Be available to work full-time throughout the summer program.
- Have authorization to work indefinitely in the United States; visa sponsorship and future immigration support are not available.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research on issues pertinent to the insurance sector.
- Assist in drafting and revising legal documents to support CSAA's legal framework.
- Monitor legislative changes that could affect the company and prepare summaries and updates for the legal team.
- Participate in weekly staff counsel meetings to discuss ongoing cases and new legal developments.
