About The Position

Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is looking for a RISC Associate - Auditor to join our Underwriting-RISC team in Wilkes-Barre, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting independent reviews of policyholders' operations and classifications for Workers' Compensation policies assigned through NCCI or state-specific plan administrators. This role ensures accurate premium determination by performing preliminary and final premium audits in accordance with applicable state regulations, NCCI guidelines, and Servicing Carrier Performance Standards. Audits are completed through correspondence, telephone interviews, and review of policyholder records, requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer service. You'll receive on-the-job training and support while building valuable skills in auditing, business operations, compliance, and customer service. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Comfort working with numbers, financial information, and detailed records
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to learn new systems, regulations, and business processes

Responsibilities

Conduct Workers' Compensation premium audits from our Wilkes-Barre office
Communicate directly with business owners and policyholders throughout the audit process
Review payroll records, tax documents, financial records, and other business documents
Analyze information to determine accurate insurance premiums
Research business operations and classifications to ensure compliance with industry guidelines
Complete audit workpapers using Excel and internal systems
Maintain high standards for accuracy, quality, and timeliness
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve audit questions and support business objectives
