About The Position

The Rink Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of the facilities, grounds, and equipment at the Ford Ice Centers. This role involves participating in the setup and disassembly of event-related equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing the ice for various events. The position requires a strong ability to follow instructions, work in a fast-paced environment, and maintain good physical condition.

Requirements

• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Able to follow written and oral instructions and complete standardized checklist forms.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work well with others, as well as independently.
• Ability to work long and/or irregular hours including nights, mornings, weekends and holidays.
• As a condition of employment, a qualified applicant will be subject to a background check, including criminal history check, driving history, and character references.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of the facilities, grounds and equipment for operations at one or more of the Ford Ice Centers.
• Participate in set-up and disassembly of hockey glass, dasher boards, party rooms, locker rooms and other event related equipment.
• Preventative maintenance and repair of facility.
• Perform pre/post event inspections and document with completed checklists.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance on operations department equipment, keep work areas and equipment organized and functional.
• Prepare ice for all practices, games and other ice events. Duties include: removing debris; checking ice depths; scraping and edging the ice.
