About The Position

This position serves as the Recipient Rights Integration and Training Program Specialist for assigned Prepaid Inpatient Health Plan (PIHP) regions and MDHHS facilities. As the Recipient Rights Integration and Training Program Specialist, the position provides technical assistance, expertise, and consultation on rights related matters to: 1) rights office staff and administration of licensed hospitals and community-based mental health service providers, 2) MDHHS staff and 3) staff of external agencies, state departments and stakeholders. The position also develops and implements related training courses for presentation to new recipient rights staff, MDHHS staff, recipient rights related committees, executive level staff of licensed psychiatric hospitals and community mental health service programs and their contract providers.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • Four years of professional experience equivalent to a Rights Representative or Civil Rights Representative.
  • Two years of professional experience equivalent to a Rights Representative P11 or Civil Rights Representative P11.
  • One year of professional experience equivalent to a Rights Representative 12, Rights Representative Manager 12, Civil Rights Representative 12, or Civil Rights Manager 12.
  • Must meet the Long-Term Care Background Check Requirement/SubClass Code.
  • Must pass and comply with the Long-Term Care (LTC) Background Check at the time of hire and during the duration of employment.
  • Attach a resume identifying specific experience and dates of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical assistance, expertise, and consultation on rights related matters to rights office staff and administration of licensed hospitals and community-based mental health service providers.

  • Provides technical assistance, expertise, and consultation on rights related matters to staff of external agencies, state departments and stakeholders.
  • Develops and implements related training courses for presentation to new recipient rights staff, MDHHS staff, recipient rights related committees, executive level staff of licensed psychiatric hospitals and community mental health service programs and their contract providers.
