About The Position

The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Central Region is looking for a Right-of-Way (ROW) Agent 3 in our Property Acquisition Unit. The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Right-of-Way (ROW) section is the functional group expert on acquisitions to support highway, aviation, and public facility capital projects. The ROW Agent 3 position serves as a lead ROW Agent within the Acquisition and Relocation Unit and functions as the Project Agent for the department’s most complex ROW projects. This role is primarily assigned to consultant-led projects but may also manage in-house project assignments. The ROW Agent 3 provides leadership in coordinating consultant activities and supports the development, administration, and oversight of professional service agreements for ROW services. The acquisition and relocation program is managed in accordance with the DOT&PF Alaska Right-of-Way Manual.

Requirements

  • Competency based minimum qualifications (MQs) must be met.
  • Leadership: Influences, motivates, and challenges others; adapts leadership styles to a variety of situations.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance.
  • Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Short term travel within the State is required. Frequency of travel is seldom and as required to support capitol projects.
  • Professional experience in the acquisition, management, or disposal of public or commercial real property that included conducting or overseeing title examining, surveying, engineering, appraisals, negotiations with buyer or seller for acquisition or relocation, performing eminent domain actions; or managing property in the preparation of land use permits, agreements, easements, and acquisition and disposition documents.
