Experience in right of way, land acquisition, real estate, negotiation, or related field work.
Ability to build relationships and handle sensitive landowner conversations respectfully.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, including accurate documentation of commitments and next steps.
Ability to review parcel data, maps, exhibits, surveys, and construction drawings.
Strong organizational skills and consistent follow through.
Comfort using Google Drive, spreadsheets, trackers, and project management tools.
Reliable transportation and availability to travel for field assignments and landowner meetings.
Residence in the Greater Columbus or Canton, Ohio area.

Nice To Haves

Prior utility, land acquisition, oil and gas, or infrastructure experience.
Familiarity with Ohio right of way projects and local land records.

Responsibilities

Serve as a key point of contact between Halo, our clients, and local landowners.
Secure easements, surface use agreements, access rights, and related documents for energy and infrastructure projects.
Conduct landowner outreach, explain project details, and negotiate agreements within approved authority.
Maintain accurate documentation throughout the acquisition process.
Manage assignments while keeping the team informed of progress, challenges, and next steps.
Build trust with landowners through calls, letters, field visits, and personal meetings.
Explain easement terms, access needs, project activities, and potential impacts in plain language.
Negotiate agreements within approved limits and escalate complex requests or issues promptly.
Review exhibits, parcel data, route details, surveys, and work descriptions for accuracy.
Coordinate document execution and confirm that agreement packages are complete.
Maintain accurate contact notes, acquisition updates, trackers, and closeout records.
Identify ownership, access, or agreement concerns early and coordinate with the appropriate team.
Support route walks, staking requests, and tract visits across assigned Ohio project areas.
Partner with Project Managers, Title, GIS, Admin, field teams, and clients to resolve issues and keep project information accurate and current.
