About The Position

Audubon is seeking a Rigger to join its team in the Offsite Office. The Rigger operates cranes to move heavy equipment or materials around a jobsite for the intended purpose of the job scope. The role involves inspecting materials, selecting and setting up rigging equipment, operating lifting gear, communicating with the construction team, and dismantling equipment. Riggers also support Audubon Companies’ health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures by working safely, completing required training and reporting, identifying hazards, and following applicable safe-work practices and regulations.

Requirements

Five years of experience in the construction industry.
Four years of experience in rigging.
Must be able to obtain site and safety training certifications required for the project.
Knowledge of construction safety practices.
In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and HSE guidelines.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to communicate and report effectively.
Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions.
Ability to work in a team environment and independently when required.
Ability to motivate, lead, teach, and train others on proper work and safety procedures.
Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
Must pass pre-employment screening, including background and drug testing.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements.

Related trade school education is preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect and prepare materials to be moved.
Choose the correct rigging equipment.
Erect mobile cranes and temporary structures.
Set up and operate pulleys, ropes, winches, and other lifting gear.
Adhere to occupational health and safety procedures.
Communicate with the construction team.
Dismantle rigging equipment.
Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, with bolts.
Set up, brace, and rig hoisting equipment, using hand signals, a loudspeaker, or a telephone to communicate with material handlers.
Perform duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety.
Participate in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities.
Identify and report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
Follow safe work practices and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
