About The Position

Audubon is seeking a Rigger to join their team in an Offsite Office. The Rigger will be responsible for operating cranes to move heavy equipment or material around a jobsite, ensuring the safe and intended purpose of the job scope. This role involves inspecting and preparing materials, selecting appropriate rigging equipment, setting up and operating various lifting gear, and adhering to strict occupational health and safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Five years' experience in the construction industry.
  • Four year’ experience in rigging.
  • Must be able to obtain site and Safety training certifications required for the project.
  • Construction safety practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively.
  • Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.
  • Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
  • Individuals must have a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets Company requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Related trade school education is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting and preparing material to be moved.
  • Choosing the correct rigging equipment.
  • Erecting mobile cranes and temporary structures.
  • Setting up and operating pulleys, ropes, winches and other lifting gear.
  • Adhering to occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Communicating with the construction team.
  • Dismantling the rigging equipment.
  • Attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings and gin pole booms, with bolts.
  • Material handlers using hand signals, loudspeaker or telephone, sets up, braces and rigs hoisting equipment.
  • Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety.
  • Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities.
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements.
