About The Position

The Rigger Craftsman 2 plans, lays out, and installs rigging components needed to lift and install equipment, machinery, pipe, steel, and other items in accordance with plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. The role involves rigging large-scale heavy equipment, positioning and aligning machinery or structures, preparing items for installation and crane hoisting, and guiding loads into position. The position may also use oxyacetylene and welding equipment to make adjustments or alterations needed for installation. The job requires meeting physical requirements, having the required tools, working at heights and in confined spaces, and complying with safety and project rules.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent, with previous years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Possess working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
• Meet all physical requirements.
• Have all required tools.
• Be able to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces, which may exceed 200 feet.
• Be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Be able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by the workload.

Responsibilities

• Set up and rig large-scale heavy equipment.
• Position, align, or level machines, equipment, and structures.
• Shake out items into an erectable sequence and rig them for crane hoisting, using thorough knowledge of crane signals.
• Guide rigged items into position using a tag line.
• Use oxyacetylene and welding equipment for adjustments or alterations needed to install rigged items.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as required.
