About The Position

The Rigger Craftsman 2 plans, lays out, and installs rigging components needed to lift and install equipment, machinery, pipe, steel, and other items in accordance with plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards. This intermediate-level role involves rigging large-scale heavy equipment, positioning and aligning machines and structures, preparing items for erection and crane hoisting, and guiding loads into place. The position may also use oxyacetylene and welding equipment to make adjustments or alterations needed for installation. The role requires compliance with safety and project rules and may involve working at heights, in confined spaces, outdoors in all weather, and overtime, nights, or weekends as workload requires.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent, with prior experience in the field or a related area.
• Must possess working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management and supervision.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
• Able to meet all physical requirements.
• Must have all required tools.
• Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces, potentially exceeding 200 feet.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required by workload.

Responsibilities

• Set up and rig large-scale heavy equipment.
• Position, align, or level machines, equipment, and structures.
• Shake out items into an erectable installation sequence and rig them for crane hoisting, using thorough knowledge of crane signals.
• Guide rigged items into position using a tag line.
• Use oxyacetylene and welding equipment to adjust or alter items as necessary for installation.
• Observe and comply with safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as required.
