About The Position

Repcon, Inc. is a leader in turnarounds, specialty welding, construction, pipe fabrication, and maintenance, serving clients in the refining, chemical, petrochemical, renewables, and midstream industries. This role involves industrial welding in a petrochemical or related industrial fabrication facility. The welder will perform various duties including welding different metals using processes such as SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW. Responsibilities include selecting, setting up, and maintaining welding equipment and consumables, ensuring proper fit of components, and adhering to safety and detail standards. Successful completion of pre-employment weld tests is required.

Requirements

  • Industrial Combo welding experience with GTAW and SMAW.
  • Must pass GTAW & SMAW manual welding procedures test.
  • Current Basic Orientation Plus (Safety Council Card) or within 3 months expiration.
  • Current TWIC card.
  • Three (3) or more years’ experience in your craft.
  • Good communication skills (speaking and actively listening) with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Good manual dexterity to perform precision adjustments of machinery parts and controls.
  • Must be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow and wind.
  • Must be able to work for long period of times up to 12 hours a day.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, ISO's, field drawings, and material takeoffs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding on various metals using processes such as SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW.
  • Select, set up, and maintain welding machines, gases, tools, and other consumables.
  • Double check the fit of pipe or other structural pieces for proper attachment.
  • Adhere to all safety and detail standards.
  • Comply with designated welding procedures and specifications.
  • Follow established job-site safety and work regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • Identify and take corrective action for safety hazards.
  • Use appropriate hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble, weld, and install pipe and tubular products.
  • Install supports, valves, and other control equipment.
  • Test installed piping systems.
  • Bolt, clamp, or weld parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Produce quality work meeting requirements of plans, specifications, and industry standards.
