About The Position

This internship position involves supporting the engineering team in the preparation of component drawings and specifications for complex products. The intern will assist with the procurement and selection of parts and materials, interface with labs to interpret test results, and communicate technical issues and work status to program engineers, management, and customers. Responsibilities also include presenting analysis results, acting as a technical consultant, and performing technical reviews of documentation to ensure conformance to requirements. The work is closely supervised, and the intern will follow established procedures and guidance from senior staff.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Master's degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering related field.
  • Or have completed their Master's degree within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare component drawings and specifications for highly complex products.
  • Provide support to engineering and purchasing for procurement and selection of parts and materials.
  • Prepare nonstandard part and material submittals.
  • Interface and work with inside and outside labs to interpret test results and define testing.
  • Effectively communicate with program engineers, management, and customers on technical issues and status of work.
  • Present results of analysis to program engineers and customers on a regular basis.
  • Act as a technical consultant in areas of expertise.
  • Perform technical reviews of material/component quality documentation including supplier data, test results, etc.
  • Follow established procedures and specific, detailed instructions and/or guidance from more senior functional staff.
