RF Systems Engineer

E-Space•Arlington, TX
•Onsite

About The Position

E-Space is developing a low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite system for IoT and space-based communications. The RF Systems Engineer will help design and deploy satellite-based radar, developing end-to-end capabilities that include waveform design, onboard processing, classification, and calibration. The role works across RF hardware, phased arrays, and digital signal processing to turn radar echoes into actionable products for LEO platforms. This is a full-time, exempt position based at E-Space’s Saratoga office. The position requires access to controlled technical data, so candidates must be U.S. persons under ITAR/EAR. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance at the Secret level or higher, along with any program-specific access required for the position. Continued employment is contingent on obtaining and maintaining required clearances and access. E-Space cannot provide employment sponsorship for candidates who do not hold work authorization for the location of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in electrical engineering.
  • At least 6 years of RF/microwave systems engineering experience.
  • Experience with RF budgets, phased arrays, receivers/transmitters, converters, calibration, and laboratory measurements.
  • Proficiency with RF simulation and test tools.
  • Ability to translate system performance into component and interface requirements.
  • Must be a U.S. person under ITAR/EAR: a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or individual granted asylum or refugee status.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance at the Secret level or higher and any program-specific access required for the position.
  • Must hold work authorization for the location of the role; employment sponsorship is not available.

Nice To Haves

  • UHF radar and high-dynamic-range direct-sampling experience.
  • Experience with EMI/EMC, interference mitigation, spectrum certification, or environmental qualification.
  • Experience with large channel-count systems.
  • Direct experience with LEO satellite component development, design, and in-orbit activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop RF requirements and budgets for gain, noise, dynamic range, linearity, phase, timing, spurious response, and interference.
  • Model and analyze antenna-to-digitizer and transmit/receive signal-chain performance.
  • Define calibration, monitoring, built-in test, and fault-isolation approaches.
  • Coordinate with array hardware, FPGA, embedded, signal processing, mechanical, power, thermal, and test teams.
  • Support component selection, supplier reviews, lab characterization, design reviews, and anomaly resolution.

Benefits

  • Opportunities for professional growth and development, including continuous learning and development.
  • Health and wellness care options.
  • Financial solutions for the future.
  • Optional legal services (U.S. only).
