About The Position

LATYS develops intelligent RF propagation technologies that extend, shape, and optimize wireless coverage in challenging environments. Your work will have a significant influence on the company’s technology and direction. We are seeking a highly motivated graduate student with a strong background in RF engineering, and antenna design to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, testing, optimization, and validation of advanced RIS panels for a variety of wireless communication applications. This position provides a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of electromagnetic theory, antenna engineering, RF hardware, measurements, and next-generation wireless system design.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetics, RF Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory, RF circuits, antennas, and wireless communication fundamentals.
  • Experience with antenna design and electromagnetic simulation tools such as CST Studio Suite, HFSS, or similar software.
  • Familiarity with RF measurement equipment, including vector network analyzers (VNA), spectrum analyzers, signal generators, or anechoic chamber measurements.
  • Experience using Python for data analysis and simulation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work and contributing effectively within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hands-on experience designing, fabricating, testing, or characterizing antennas.
  • Knowledge of phased arrays, beamforming, metasurfaces, and reconfigurable intelligent surfaces.
  • Experience with RF prototyping, PCB-based antenna implementation, or laboratory testing.
  • Experience working on experimental research projects involving RF hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and optimization of RIS-based RF and antenna systems.
  • Support the development of new RIS panel architectures for various wireless communication applications.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot performance limitations in existing RIS prototypes.
  • Perform electromagnetic and antenna simulations using industry-standard software tools.
  • Conduct RF and antenna measurements and assist in experimental validation activities.
  • Analyze measurement results and compare them with simulation and theoretical predictions.
  • Support antenna characterization activities, including radiation pattern, gain, efficiency, and impedance measurements.
  • Document technical findings and contribute to internal reports, technical documentation, and project deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering and research teams.
