About The Position

Apple System RF team is looking for an experienced Radio Frequency (RF) System Integration Engineer to lead the development and optimization of RF automation testing systems used across Apple's cellular products. You'll bring deep technical judgment to a high-caliber, global team, driving system architecture decisions and mentoring other engineers while staying hands-on with the hardest RF problems. You will take a technical leadership role within a hands-on development team, driving engineering rigor, creativity, and innovation across multiple product lines. We're looking for a seasoned engineer who can operate independently in ambiguous problem spaces, define solutions that don't yet exist, and raise the bar for the team around them.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated depth in RF fundamentals and communications theory sufficient to independently diagnose novel RF impairments without guidance.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience with RF lab equipment, including having specified or architected test setups, not just operated them.
  • 6+ years professional experience in C/C++ system-level software development, including having designed and shipped non-trivial systems (not just feature work).
  • Proven experience designing or leading development of RF test automation systems or frameworks, end-to-end.
  • Working proficiency with data processing/statistical analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or equivalent) applied to RF/test data at scale.
  • Experience operating with significant autonomy on ambiguous, cross-functional technical problems, with a track record other engineers can point to.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep experience with current/emerging Cellular standards (LTE, 5G NR, etc.).
  • Track record designing and shipping RF test solutions/systems from scratch.
  • Experience mentoring or leading small technical efforts.
  • Experience using agentic workflows for software development and data processing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • 6+ years of relevant industry experience in RF engineering, test systems, or wireless communications.
  • Track record of owning complex technical problems end-to-end, from architecture through delivery.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and optimization of RF automation testing systems used across Apple's cellular products.
  • Drive system architecture decisions.
  • Mentor other engineers.
  • Stay hands-on with RF problems.
  • Drive engineering rigor, creativity, and innovation across multiple product lines.
  • Operate independently in ambiguous problem spaces.
  • Define solutions that don't yet exist.
  • Raise the bar for the team.
