About The Position

Raytheon is seeking an entry-level Radio Frequency (RF)/Microwave Antenna Engineer within its Airborne Radar Electronics Design Hardware Engineering directorate. This role will be an on-site position located in El Segundo, California. The RF/Microwave Antenna Engineer will be responsible for participating in the development of state-of-the-art circulators, radiators, filters, and passive components. The primary role for this individual will be to perform design analysis, verification, troubleshooting, and testing for circulators/radiators and RF/microwave sub-components used in phased array antennas. The successful candidate will be capable of presenting technical information to peers and program leadership. The candidate will gain experience modeling, integrating, and testing RF/microwave components used in phased array antennas, including circulators, radiators, filters, and other passive devices. They will also strengthen teamwork and early leadership skills while contributing to the development of next-generation antenna products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or project experience involving antenna theory or RF/microwave component design
  • Ability to apply basic principles, theories, and concepts within the electrical engineering fields and general knowledge of other related disciplines
  • Experience reading technical drawings or electrical schematics (coursework or projects acceptable)
  • Hands-on lab experience with standard EE lab equipment (VNAs, power meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, DMMs, signal generators, etc.)
  • Experience presenting technical information through school projects, internships, or extracurricular activities
  • Exposure to RF simulation tools such as CST or Ansys HFSS (coursework acceptable)
  • Familiarity with scientific programming or automation tools such as Python, LabVIEW, or MATLAB
  • Exposure to tools such as Keysight ADS or AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with engineering requirements or test documentation (coursework acceptable)
  • Exposure to one or more RF/microwave product areas such as phased arrays, feed networks, circulators, filters, or beamformers
